The Farmington river stretches 46.7 miles along the northwest corner of Connecticut into Massachusetts. The river historically played an important role in small-scale manufacturing in towns along its course, but it is now mainly used for recreation and drinking water. The Farmington River is now most well-known for its world-class trout fishery as well as a tubing/kayaking destination. The Farmington Rivers consist of the West Branch and the East Branch. We will mostly be fishing the West Branch of the Farmington River. The West Branch of the Farmington River is fed by the West Branch Reservoir and the Colebrook River Lake Reservoir. These reservoirs play an important part in the Farmington Rivers ecosystem as the feed cold water all year long.
